Ambassador Andrea Bowman, the Ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines said Taiwan has done a remarkable job on containing the COVID-19 and the way she sees it, on the part of the public, the experience of SARS seems to have taught a valuable lesson to the Taiwanese as Taiwanese seem to have adapted to the requisite protocol and elsewhere in the world, indiscipline and ignorance have made the situation worse. On the part of the government, she says Taiwan government led with knowledge, decisiveness, consistency, transparency and effective use of technology and communication. In terms of supporting Taiwan’s bid to join the international organizations such as the WHO, she said Taiwan should not be left out and the exclusion of Taiwan from the WHO is inhumane stressing that responsibility for world health means responsibility for all the people in the world. Asked what the Ambassador hopes to achieve this year, Ambassador Andrea Bowman said Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are working on MOU on disaster preparedness, management and mitigation.
